When I was working at a hotel front desk, I saw firsthand how challenging it can be for international visitors to find clear and reliable information about Korea. Through my experiences studying English in the Philippines, doing a working holiday in Australia, and backpacking around the world—I was able to witness the interest in Korean culture up close. People from around the world looked at Korea with fascination, often seeking deeper and more authentic insights.
Of course, not all experiences were smooth. There were misunderstandings, disagreements, and even cases of theft or scams. Yet, what stood out even more were the strangers who reached out to help me in difficult situations. There were people who covered bus fares and ensured I got to safe places when I needed help the most.
Through the support of strangers and my own journey, I realized that overcoming language, information and cultural barriers unlocks the heart of a country. I hope this community can be that bridge, connecting travelers and enthusiasts with the authentic Korean experiences they seek. Our mission is to help you connect, understand, and experience Korea as it truly is just as our slogan says Unlock Real Korea!
